Welcome back to Caffeinated Chaos. In this episode, we dive into the beautiful chaos of balancing businesses, being mamas to toddlers, and life's surprises. Our guest, Cassidy Handel, the copywriting mama, in her words, exists to make nailing the words in business easier so that you can make seamless sales without sacrificing authenticity or personality. I love it. Anyway, you guys are going to love her as much as I love her. So let's dive on in. Welcome to the podcast. Thanks for having me. Thank you. So, okay, let's first off. People don't know this, but I totally slid into your DMs one day, you know, after we were in the same online community. And I don't, I honestly, I don't even remember what drew me to be like, Oh, I need to add this person. Like, I was just like, there were like hundreds of people on this online community too. It was huge. And I didn't know that you were a toddler mom like me until I started following you on Instagram. And then now there are moments where we like just swap voice messages back and forth. That's when I always know somebody and I are going to get along well is when we, they like nonchalant just go with the flow. I send a voice memo, they hit me with one back or they just respond like, don't even bat an eyelash. That's when I always know it's going to work out because you get it. It's so much easier just to pick up the phone, hit the little button. You can hear the tone. My one question for you is, are you still in that membership? We don't have to name it, but are you still? No, no, I am not. I got what I got out of it. It was a great membership for the time that I had it and the, I just, nothing, nothing bad about it. It's just my, Business now needs a different type of like advice or mentorship that, I want to go into a different, coaching program. So then I decided that switch out basically. Definitely. It was a good, broad, entry into the sales funnel and the operations of it all. But I think more niche. That we got, it was a big membership. We were in like 2000 plus people. It's hard to have a personal touch when you've got a group of people that big, it's like hard to feel like you have a place in your scene. And now that I've done a smaller scale, business coaching with somebody else. And it was like 20 of us and it was a really high touch. It was like such a different experience. Totally different price point. I will say it was a lot higher for this, but it was so worth it. And the, the return on the investment was so worth it. It's just different things work for different people. And I totally agree with you. I definitely found my way back to something smaller, more close knit, and that's just kind of. Who I am as a person. Yeah, that's fair. my, my group of friends ever since having kids is like six people. So I definitely feel you. I like small groups. I like the intimacy of it all and having like, to actually know who. You're interacting with, which is why I was like, I have no idea how I found you out of like 2000 people, like, Yes. Yes. And it's nice to be able to support people like really genuinely and be able to leave more thoughtful comments and like get to know each other, like we do over DMs and stuff. You know what I think we had in common is I'm from your area. And I saw the city was on the name and I messaged you within the app and I said something like, Oh, I'm from that area of California. And I don't live there anymore, but it was like, I'm like, if you know, you know, and you did. So that was so cool. And one thing about that before we get started, cause I know you're going to talk about branding, it's so funny because I think it was either a voice memo. It was definitely on Instagram where you were like, Hey, do you like Chris? Uh, what is it called? Um, Gosh, what's it called? The croissant doughnuts. Yes. The croissant doughnuts. Yeah, the cronuts. There you go. The cronuts. And you're like, this place on this street by this gym, you know, and in my head, I was like, Oh, I know exactly where that is. Like, they got a rock climbing wall outside. Yes. Yes. Very. Yes. So good. So, so good. Yeah. Definitely. And it's so funny. I think of small businesses, like even there and here too in Wyoming, it's just like the marketing and the online world is so active and so like ambitious and they're, everyone's just, it's a sprint constantly. It's so competitive. And then you see these little mom and pop places that do just fine in person and store fronts. And these people don't have an email list. These people don't have anything. And then there's people like me that always want to go pitch these people and get them Into the like online marketing space. I'm like, Oh, just think if you like, we're really active on your Facebook page or whatever it is. And it's so funny because there's just some businesses like have not, have not needed that up until this point and where we are just running at it, trying everything we can to, to grow online. And they're just like, no, I'm fine. People walk in here, let people pay the bills. They're, yeah, they're just, they're making their cronuts. Making their cronuts look so good. Okay, so for my listeners, why don't you let us know, like, tell them what you are and your business is all about. Yeah, well, I am Cassidy, the Copywriting Mama. I originally was a podcast manager, actually, funny enough, for, a podcast and I got fired and it started this, I need To make money. I'm home with my daughter at the time. She was still breastfeeding. So I was like really home with my daughter. And I was like, I got to figure something out. That boss had complimented me one time. And the one like really nice thing that she said that stuck with me was that if I ever didn't work with her, I'd be a great copywriter. And I should have seen the writing on the wall then that was like probably a month prior to me losing my job. And I want I'm going to just clarify. I had undiagnosed ADHD at the time. I was unmedicated. I was in such a different place in my life. I was two days into moving into my first purchased home when I thought the bomb dropped on me. So it was a huge phase of transition in my life. And I was like, I gotta figure something out. So I started a YouTube channel. I didn't have the money to like go buy a copywriting course. So I went on YouTube and watched every free video Ted and built this copywriting business from the ground up. I've still not invested in a copywriting course. And I don't want to say self taught because I've definitely had some really amazing mentors along the way, but I will say I got everything for free that I possibly could to build this. Because for a long time I didn't have the money. Now I serve mostly cowgirls, Christians and mompreneurs. With copy, we really focus on nailing the words, from a brand level, like brand voice level, and then moving it through the funnel all the way to the sale and just making sure that everything's cohesive and doesn't lack personality in the name of making more of a profit, you know, you can have both. So that's kind of my jam and that's what I do. And I love Instagram and threads and those are probably my two favorite places to be online. Yes. Yes. You are. I aspire to be as active on those platforms as you are. Like, no, you don't. You don't need to be on your phone that much, I promise. I have a problem. I should mention, I'm also a recovering addict, so the phone is definitely another source of dopamine for me. And yeah, it's, it's, I can never coach anyone because I would say if you want to have what I have, you'd have to be on your phone like 10 hours a day. That's, that's fair. I mean, the world is such a digital place, too. I mean, you can't really go anywhere without seeing, like, more than half the, like, 90 percent of people with their phones up. Yeah, everyone's in a waiting room now, and everyone's neck is, like, crooked over at their phone, and I just look around at, like, the one or two old people in the room that are just sitting there, and, like, they must just hate the world that we live in now. Like, they must just hate. Nobody's having conversations at checkout stands anymore. I mean, you really have to like sometimes here in Wyoming, it's a small town. So it's still kind of like that, but I remember in California, it's like really fast paced and go, go, go. You know, it's different. Yeah. Yeah. And, and I live, so I live in Santa Cruz and so it's obviously a tourist location. And so everyone's like, can you also like take my picture? Can you like, you know, I'm like, okay, how many times can I take a picture of the boardwalk sign for you? Oh my gosh. Okay. Okay. This is playing in the picture. Santa Cruz is far enough away from, I was from Aromas, this is like a little 2000 person town, uh, inland of, of Santa Cruz. And Santa Cruz is where we'd go on the weekends, like where we'd go to get away from our parents kind of thing. And it was like, I can't imagine living there. Everyone's there just trying to party. Everyone's there just being crazy and having a good time. And you're just like, I actually live here. I actually have roots here and I don't get to go away on Monday morning. So. Yeah. Yeah. It's like, can you just stay out of our back roads? Let us, let us zip through traffic on the back roads. Leave Cora, leave us alone. So you are all about branding. Cass, your branding, like you just took, brand photos, right? And you're getting a new website up? Yes, yeah. Which will probably be up by the time this record, this podcast goes live. Yes, it should be up by the end of this week and it's December 3rd that we're recording this. And it's funny you mentioned my branding because you're wearing a sweater with checkerboard on it and I Couldn't help but notice. I just love that sweater and I would love to thank you. It's so cute. I wish I would have had that sweater at my brand shoot. Yeah, so I've never had professional photos. My original website was something that I traded services for. It was early in your business. And I think If you make an effort to really grow your skill where you, where you can be a year from starting out is crazy. Like you can be in, have a full blown business that's generating income. Like people, what is the saying? It's like you underestimate what you can do in a year, but you overestimate what you can do in a day, I think is how it is. And it's like, so you think you can do more in a day than you can, but you actually think you can do less than a year than what you're capable of. And that's kind of what happened here. I've been in 15 months now in business. And, um, Yeah, I won a website in a day giveaway by like my dream branding brand, refined marketing and they're amazing. And I've always looked at their work and been like, I wish, you know, but it's thousands of dollars to have this done. And I just wasn't in a place. And it's funny because I commented on the giveaway post. And I said, you're supposed to nominate somebody else. And I said, nominating myself because my website needs Jesus and refined marketing, and they pin my comment really early on, and I was like, Oh, I'm not going to win. Cause I'm like a pin comment. They probably just think I'm funny, but then when they announced that I want, I was like, no way. And so, yeah, we're doing that tomorrow and I will have my daughter home and her dad will be at work. So who knows what's going to happen? I'm going to do my best, but yeah, I wouldn't invest in a brand shoot because think what you give them to work with. Anybody, copywriter, social media marketer, whoever it is in your business, a VA, like what you give somebody as a business owner has so much impact on what they're able to do for you. And I think sometimes like, this is like scaling your expectations. It's like somebody can only perform. What, with what you give them. And so I wanted to give them the best and the most to work with. And so we had Pinterest boards. I mean, I did my logo three different ways, went down to Denver, drove four hours and had my photos taken by an online friend who I got to meet in real life for the first time, Chris Ross. She's so cool. And we just had a blast shooting those photos and it was, it was. Nice as a mom to do something for me. Like it felt selfish for a second. And I was like, wait, this is coming out of my business bank account. Like this isn't like our family's money being spent on this. This isn't a business investment. It's a tax write off. So I was just like. Check myself for a second, because at first I was like, this is selfish. I'm getting clothes and like buying fake eyelashes to go down on a trip by myself for hours. It felt like very selfish. And we have one car. So then I was leaving my daughter's dad, my partner, Kenny home by himself with her with no car. I was just like, this is it's big, but. I just, all the signs kept saying, just do it. And everyone was super supportive and excited with me. And it was, it was worth it. So I cannot wait to see what we do with those photos. It's going to be fun. It's going to be so fun. And they are great photos. Like your friend, amazing photographer. Like, give me all the presets. Like I need whatever you did to edit those photos. I need them. Cause I needed it to edit my own photos. Yeah, she did great. I was so nervous because I'm not somebody, I think a lot of moms can relate to this, like, I'm not who I was for a kid, you know, and I'm, I'm still getting to know this body and the skin that I'm in and definitely, of course, not like the way I would love to be and I'm already shy on camera, which if you watch my content, you'd be like, no, you're not like, so different filming at home, your own angles and your own lighting. And, you know, from the kitchen window where you're always at, it's so different to be, In some of these lens and just so exposed, but she made it so easy. She was such a hype girl. And this is why, like, it's so nice to work with other moms. It's so nice to work with people that, love what they do because they make it fun. And so, yeah, highly recommend if you've never invested in a brand shoot, spend the money, find a photographer who is like super fun and whose style you love and photos you love and, just do it for you. You know, I, I cheat my sister's a photographer. Oh, that's not cheating. That's a. That's a leg up. Yeah. Yeah. She, she was a photographer for Disney and now she's a family photographer. I called her and I was like, I need this. And then she's like, okay, are we taking pictures with the kids too? And I was like, yeah, why not? I know that was a hard thing. We were like, do we get, do we just everybody go down and get extra pictures taken? And I was like, no, this one's for me. Yeah. Yeah. You, you are allowed to have things for you. I mean, it's for the business, but also it's also for you because you are your business in a sense. And, it's also a nice, a nice thing to just kind of, not saying we have to get away from our kids, but it's nice to like, be able to do that trip focused on what you need to get focused. Yeah. And the content, honestly, it's crazy. Cause I was, I keep joking around that. Like, Oh, all I had to do is go pay for a thousand bucks for pictures. And now people are like engaging with my content, like crazy. Like it's just, I mean, engagement was like, it's been good. You know, we've been coasting upwards the last few months. I feel good about the strategy I'm using, but as soon as I incorporated professional pictures, I was like, you guys. You guys are so, this is all you wanted from me. You wanted some nice pictures. Okay. Like what? And it's crazy. And so I think anybody who's considering like with their branding, that it's, it's a balance, the visuals and it's the voice. And so yes, invest in the voice, invest in the messaging, but even as a writer, I'm like, also invest in the graphics and the design and the photos, because they both have to marry and make this perfect combination. Like one cannot be without the other. You always, you know, people want to save a buck and do one of them by themselves. And it's like, It will show what you put into it will show. And I'll be honest with you. I had to dip like this is not a, it was a big spend and I definitely had to dip into money that I was not trying to use tax money, like stuff like that. And it's like, just, I took the risk. I mean, to me, it was like an investment in myself and a risk on my business. And, I think it's totally paying off. Good, good. So, like, great. I was wondering, so you kind of already, like, gave a couple tips, right? But as a copywriter and a branding expert, which I believe that you are, I don't know, do you see yourself as an expert? Uh, me and my therapist should have this conversation now, but, uh, no, I think that right now, cause I'm, I'm still, I'm so such a baby in this compared to some people. I think there's proof in some of the stuff that I've done that would indicate that I'm maybe in that. Direction or department, you know, whether it's things I've competed for, um, results from stuff, but I definitely say I have so much to learn and I call myself a strategist. That's the word. That's good. So more than a pen for hire, I'm also a brain for hire. And that brain is really obsessed with marketing. And so I'll just, I'll take that. Nice. Yeah. Yeah. But do you have any like If someone is just starting out right and obviously, you know, it would be great to be able to work with you. And we'll talk about how people can connect with you if they do. But for someone who is just like. Just starting to like, get the idea in their head, like, maybe I should build a brand. What do you think are some like, actionable steps that, you know, they can take out there? Well, I think like, square one for me, working with someone, if somebody came to me and said like, I do this thing, and I can solve this problem, and I want to turn it into my income. The first thing I would say, Is and I'm not saying this because I'm a writer and like, I want someone to come by this for me, but you need to have some kind of brand messaging foundational thing. It's more than the fonts. It's more than the templates and the graphics it's, and the colors, your brand messaging, having your core values and your mission statement and your brand differentiators, your brand's promise, your brand's. One year, five year, 10 year vision. Um, I think there are so many things that you can do that can lay the foundation for how your brand talks. Cause the thing is like, everyone's like, go make the offer and then just start posting and showing up and show up messy and like, that's going to sell your product. And like, I just think there's more to it. There's more a foundation that comes before even the offer, because you want the offer to be cohesive with the content, to be cohesive with your newsletter, with your website, with everything you want it all to flow and all to speak directly to your ideal client. Cause. The graphics you can always improve and there's lots of inexpensive options. I mean, there are really good templates out there. They're good. Um, like brand questionnaires, I mean, AI is getting amazing with, with helping you kind of pull thoughts out of your head. That's something that I'm teaching my clients to use their brand messaging blueprint with is to plug it into AI and get it to make you a masterclass outline or a blog post outline. Whatever it is. So using those inexpensive tools too, you can go get logo packages on Etsy for 16 bucks that you can edit. There you can get fonts really cheap. I mean, there's so many ways to do it cheap, and not look cheap, if that makes sense. Like, but to do one thing after another, and don't be in a hurry to get something out just to like get money coming in. Cause if you do it badly, you're not going to make money anyways. And it will have just been a waste of time. So just be intentional from like the very foundation of the messaging. And then. Follow that with the graphics, the content and all the other things. Cool. No, no, that makes, that makes sense to me. You did touch base and just because I follow you. So I know you were talking about your, brand messaging. You want to tell people about. What you offer to your clients. Yeah. Yeah. So, and I think this is something like you could do without me too, is like, just, there's a process we go through and a lot of the time clients come to me cause either they, maybe they serve two different target audiences, but they want to narrow it down. They know that they could be more successful if they were more clear. And they kind of know, you know, they speak, especially if you have a personal brand, you assume like, Oh, well the content's me and I'm writing it. And so it's in my voice, but like, People don't even think I think sometimes about the fact that your brand has very little to do with you in the sense that it's going to be built around your target audience. It's first, what problem are you solving? Who are you solving it for? How did they need to be spoken to? Where do they hang out? What platforms are they on? What content performs good on those platforms? Cause maybe you love creating long form YouTube videos, but maybe your target audience doesn't even consume that. So then you better learn to like Tik TOKs or Facebook written posts or LinkedIn, whatever it is. So, combining all those things. And then seeing where you fit into those things. And somebody might be sitting here going like, no, like I am going to build it around me and like, it's going to be, and go, go off. But like, isn't it like the heart of business is serving people and being of service and you can't be 50, 50 serving. Yourself and fighting your target audience to be the hero. Like they're the heroes and you're the guide and you're the Yoda. And it takes humbling yourself a little bit and remembering that, like, this isn't building your dream boutique that is for you or a past version of yourself to heal your inner child. This is you're building a business to support your family, but it needs to appeal to the people you're trying to help. And if you're just speaking your language and not their language, you miss your mark. And so, I think that's really important is knowing who you're talking to and how they need to be spoken to. I know what you offer. So I know like the words that you constantly use too, but someone who's brand new to the, you know, to the business, to branding, they might not know all the same terminology that, someone who's been in the business multiple years. And so I feel like this is also. A great example of this is like you have someone who's an IT person and they come in and you're like my computer's broken and they start doing coding and you know talking about like all the back ends of computers my eyes just gloss right over I'm a techie person but I'm not like wires coding tech you know and I always say it's like talking to a level as a level 10 expert you have to dumb it down not dumb it down it's not a good way to say that I should find nicer words to you. But you know what I mean? Keep it simple. Turn it down to a level three because your target audience, we're always helping people that are behind us in the journey. Like you're not helping if you have not had a successful health journey, you're not helping people who are like training for the Olympics. You know what I'm saying? You're always helping somebody a little bit behind you. And so even though you're a level 10 expert, or, you know, things at a level 10 to word them in a way that's, That it makes sense to level three. I mean, to master that is to master copywriting. And so typically I try to tell things, I mean, some people would argue that my content is unprofessional. It's, it's so silly. It's so, um, just friendly and not like. If I say lead generation, like half my audience doesn't even know what that means. You know what I'm saying? And so I'm saying wrangle in the people that need your solution and are willing to pay for it. And they're like, yeah, I'm trying to do that. But if I was like, if you're trying to generate more leads organically, they'd be like, kale, like, what are you talking about? And so. It's just knowing how to speak the people you're trying to help language. Um, and, and remember, I'm sure for like teachers and stuff, it's really hard. Cause it's like, you know, at a certain level, they don't. And so, yeah, it has to be teachable and has to be, you know, simple and, and meet your audience where they're at in their journey. I also love how. For the listeners out there, you were talking about how, like, your ideal person, like, you know, you have the cowgirl humor and all that, so, as I hear you talk, I'm like, ooh, she said wrangle, like, that's such a cowgirl, like, word, and it's so great because, And this comes back to your branding is because that you say that that's your humor And then you can hear it as you talk and how you write I mean you're one of the things you're always saying is like comment. Howdy, you know And I love that because some people some people will be like, oh listen to this podcast comment like Episode three, five, seven, you know, that kind of example. But even your comment words and your call to action words are so on brand for you. I love that. I, thank you. And I think some people sometimes, you know, with the, there's a fine line, you want to be creative and clever, but you want to be clear because you don't want to speak like a total different language. I say, I was not trying to help people like myself, you know, cowgirl, Christian mompreneurs, Millennials, ideally, is like who my clients are. If I was trying to help people, like, for instance, and I'm not aging anybody, by the way, but like boomers, I would not talk the way I talk because they would be like, you are Another level. It wouldn't connect with them. You'd want to be more professional, more elegant in the way you speak. And so, um, I, I purposely built, sorry. I purposely built my brand to, I'm not just serving people like myself, but I'm serving people I know how to communicate with because I am a little, and I don't want to tone that down. I don't want to water it down. I, and I've walked away from a lot of money, in this business, even in the last six months in the last year, that would have been life changing amounts of money for an exchange. I couldn't post about my faith. I couldn't post about, um, being somebody who believes in carrying weapons. You know, I live in Wyoming. We have open carry and carry a gun everywhere I go with my kid. And there's people in different countries that would be appalled by that. And so I just was not willing to. Change that there's people that will serve those communities and we all have to serve somebody and I think you have to feel very firm about who you serve and very, I'm not saying I won't. I won't work with somebody who's not faith based. I won't work with somebody who won't work with me for being faith based, if that makes sense. Yeah. And so, yeah, that's why your core values are so important in your business too, is, having foundational values you always return to. So when you are faced with those really hard decisions or somebody is putting money on the table for a partnership or a sponsorship, but they're saying, Oh, but here's the. Caveat, you have to do this or, uh, you have to promote this. And if it is something that doesn't align with your core values, it's not even, you don't even have to go marinate and be sad about it. You can just say like right here in the fine print, like I don't do that. And so, no, the answer is no. And that is how you just keep your brand, to have a root of integrity and to be true to yourself and something that you can always feel good coming home to you and sleep good at night. Cause it can be sketchy. We know there's a lot of, Slimy, sleazy, snickety snakes out there on the internet. And so I think it's really important to, to be one of the real ones and people can smell it from a mile away. I know I get people sometimes who are like, I feel like you are in person who you are online. I'm like, yeah, that's kind of the whole point. Yeah, you are so authentic. I love it. And like, there are times where I feel like, I don't know, maybe, maybe it's because we both have toddlers, but like, sometimes I like when I'm watching your stuff and I'm just like, Oh my God, I that was me yesterday. Like, I totally get it. You know, I feel bad for the TVs in the background. And I'm like, if somebody so bothered that Blippi or Paw Patrol is like on blast in the back of all my stories, and I'm like, No, because you guys get it. The real ones get it. Like, yeah, you can be like, yeah, I know that theme song, you know. Literally, that's just Rachel. Mine is always like, bluey. And, and, what else is she into? She's like, into Gabby. She called it Gabby Gabby. It's like, it's a little girl with the cats. Yeah, but there's always something. And she's really into Baby shark. Did you know that they make baby shark episodes? Yeah, I blocked, we blocked all those on YouTube because it was getting, I couldn't, it was baby shark all day. And I was just like, I think I'd rather go back to Blippi if we had to. And so we went one on the kit. I'm getting to that point. We blocked all of them. But there's like three channels. So if you block one, they'll still be popping up. You have to block like all three or four of their channels. It's crazy. They're everywhere. Bye. Yeah, but even their marketing. I mean, if you think about it with the kids shows, it's like she doesn't like watching our TV when I put on my YouTube videos or whatever my reality TV could not care less about it. And it's because they're not talking to her how a toddler needs to be spoken to. But all of a sudden, Goo Goo Gaga comes on the screen and she's like, Oh, my gosh. And it's like, It's just the perfect example of everything that we do is the branding of it, the bright colors. And, and it's giving me a migraine, honestly, I'm just like, no way that I'm not their target market, but my kid is. And so, I mean, even down to that, if you were trying to serve children, you're going to serve them so differently than you'd serve their parents. And you don't have to serve everyone. You don't want to ever try to serve everybody. Yeah. Could you, could you imagine like, Miss Rachel or Blippi trying to serve adults like. Spongebob is kind of like that if you think about it. Our TV when we were growing up was like more on the edge. Hey Arnold. All the 90s shows. Yeah, yeah, but and that was a little more tongue in cheek and, but again for some reason won't watch them, doesn't care about them. She's just like, I want the, you know, Cocoa Melon's another one. I had loved Cocoa Melon because I was like, this is crazy to watch. Like, this is. I've already banned Cocoa Melon from our house. It was on for a while, but again, it's one of those things where it's like, she watched it so much that like, after a while, I'm like, all right, let's, let's find, let's find new friends. Let's find something new. My favorite right now is, um, Mika. It's like, another version of like a Miss Rachel and a Blippi. It's actually, I think. Mika and Blippi are friends, like, it started off on Blippi, and, um, I love how we're just talking about, like, yeah, Blippi and Mika. This is literally mom stuff, like, we can't do anything and have an adult conversation without, like, it coming back to those darn kids, and I love it though, I mean, don't you feel like, you have more than me by, You have three or four now. And I have two! Oh, I thought you just had your third, because you just had a baby not long ago. I, yeah, so I have, I have a three year old and a four month old. Okay, I thought your four month old was like number three or four. No, it seems like that because we have, um, a housemate that lives with us who's like a live in babysitter too, which is great. He's like a brother in law. But his name is Junior. So everyone assumes that Junior, when they hear the name, is my firstborn. Oh wow. And I'm like, no, he's a grown adult, guys. Like, you know. So then let's talk, talk about Hope a little bit. I don't know if you saw, I just pulled my daughter out of school. Right, yeah. It was in school and it was so helpful to build my business. And every mom listening, like there's no cheat code, right? To what's going to work for your business for the first, you know, year we were doing a breastfeeding and her home and, and it was hard, but we did it. And then she went into school and it was really awesome. But then there were some not so awesome things about it. I missed her all the time. I felt like, I'm okay with being somebody who pulls my laptop out at night or on the weekend. Like if her dad's off on the weekend, wants to take her to the park and I can get a little work in and that's going to let me have a Monday afternoon at the park or whatever. I just don't think the rules apply. And I don't think you can feel guilty just because I think that's a marketing tactic, right? People are like, wouldn't you love to never work a weekend again? I'm like, not if it meant working eight hour days, five days a week. Like, what are we talking here? And so, Just allowing yourself to have the space, that everything's going to look different. So what about you, like, for help? Do you have, you have Junior? So yeah, so in our household we have me, my husband, our two girls, and then we have Junior. And Junior is like a brother in law. He's like a friend who's like family, basically, right? And, so I work part time three days out of the week. Two of those days are remote. And then I have our business. Cause I help my previous boss, going back part time and all those days between the hours of on, between the hours that I'm working, like eight 30 to like two o'clock junior watches the kids solely. And it's great to have that extra set of hands. It's also really great to just generally have an extra set of hands. When my husband is not home because like, like, say for example, the toddler's having a meltdown, but the four month old needs to be fed right now, you know? Luckily my oldest Michaela, she is amazing at being a big sister. You know, she rarely has those moments where it's like, I need mommy all the time for myself. Um, and she'll be like, Oh no, Jasmine's hungry. Or she's upset and she'll like, try to go find a pacifier. That's her job, is finding the pacifiers. So, I purposely just put them anywhere, just so she can spend time. It's like an Easter egg hunt for her. Um, And yeah, so like, having that extra pair of hands, like, I know, I know 100%, I am lucky to have a third person in this family dynamic. Um, I don't take it for granted. He gets, I make, I buy him tons of food. He, he doesn't take any money, which is great, but it's like, Um, do you want food? Do you need a ride to Target? I got you. Like, you know, you want to go to Starbucks? Um, whatever, whatever feels fair, you know, whatever. So he, he lives with you. So will he like date night for you and your husband? If you need a date night, like, does that work? Yeah, yeah, that's so cool. Yeah, we, we celebrated our anniversary the other day and we were heading up to San Jose and he watched both kids for us, which was great. We came back home and the baby was asleep on his chest and he was watching TV and the toddler was like, listening, she was watching on her, It's a, it's an iPhone, but it's like a decommissioned iPhone. And I was like, okay, cool. And we got her like little game, gamer headset. Um, so she can be a little kitty cat. They have like a little cat ears. So cute. Um, and she, they just look up and she, and it's so funny. She looked up and she goes, mommy, daddy, what are you doing here? And we were just like, we live here. And she goes, Okay, I was like, wow. But yeah, he's great with them, which is so funny because we were the first of his friends to ever have kids. So before my toddler was born, he had never held a baby before. He was terrified. and now he's just like, he's like super uncle basically. Like he's got the baby strapped to his chest with the carrier. He's like walking around. He's like blowing bubbles with my toddler. And I was like, he went from, Oh my God, I can't hold the baby. I'm going to break it to being like super nanny. Like, I feel like that sometimes I had never had experience and I didn't want kids before I got pregnant. Just being totally honest. It was a, it was a Surprise. It was unexpected, unplanned. I was with my partner for like six months, uh, when I found out and I was like, what on earth? I didn't even, I had thought at that point I was infertile because I was so like, had been irresponsible for so many years and never had this happen. And, um, I'll be so honest. I like, didn't know what our future looked like. I didn't know that we, you know, we'd just now been together for over four years. And it's crazy to think like, you know, that we both had no experience. I think him, him either. He's the youngest kid. So he wouldn't have ever had that. Taking care of some of these baby things. And yeah, me neither. I think that was the first diaper I changed was in the hospital. Uh, that black tar poop diaper. And I was like, what have I gotten myself into? Oh my gosh. It was so nerve wracking. And now like, we're like comparing sizes. We're like, no, this is the biggest one she's ever taken for sure. It's like, so obnoxious. We're so silly over here and it's, she's the best though. Like our, our whole lives have changed and you just get expanded. It's amazing what can happen when. You don't even know how much you're capable of loving or how hard you're capable of working or like just your bandwidth. Like it's amazing. Um, I think so many things I wouldn't build my business. I wouldn't have that be on the health journey I'm on now. I think I still would be, I mean, I was a crazy, I was a crazy girl when I got pregnant. I was definitely I, and I was for a while until I was about six months pregnant. I finally decided to settle things down and, and start realizing like life was about to get really real. But it's so funny because now, like, I'm the person nobody would have thought had kids. All my friends are like, I can't believe you're a mom and you're like, you're like a good mom. And I'm like, isn't it crazy? You're a great mom. I'm like, isn't it nuts? So people, if you haven't yet, you guys definitely need to follow Cas because like, when she's like, you're a good mom. No, Cas is a great mom. And you are constantly like, talking and talking about real stuff to like authentically. And. And when things are good, you talk about good things, and when things are bad, you still kind of mention it. Yeah. And, and also, just to say, like, Bake sales, I think you have down because I've seen you bake so much like you're always like this bread and this loaf and these cupcakes. I'm like, you've been here for a while then because my sourdough starter has been dead for so long. I've been trying to bring it back to life and my mom just got me my birthday was like a week ago. My mom says like, your present's coming. It's coming. And I baked for my daughter's school because I just pulled her out of school like literally this week. So she was still in school the week before Thanksgiving. And. On, like, the weekend before, the gift was supposed to be here on the 21st or 22nd, I had to bake 10 loaves of bread for her school. And I did it by hand, like, arm mixing, right? No mixer, yeah. I don't have a KitchenAid mixer, nothing. And then all of a sudden, the night, the bread's cooling on my oven, it's hot, it's steaming, I get a knock on the door. It is a KitchenAid mixer that my mom has gotten me for my birthday, and I'm like, Oh, no, I'm like, no offense, but I told you all day, I was going to bake this bread. Like you didn't want to tell me to wait an hour, two hours. And she's like, I didn't want, I I'm so bad about surprises. I always convince her to tell me like, what, you know, I just, I think it's like a safety thing is like, you like to predict and know what's coming. Like, you don't want to be caught off guard. And she caught me off guard. Cause I definitely had no idea, like no idea. She just kept being like, it'll be there. It'll be there. I'm like, It could have been pajamas from Costco and I wouldn't have been surprised. Like, I just had no idea when it was a KitchenAid mixer. I was like, man, you just had me out here baking 10 loaves of banana bread with my whole arm. Like, are you serious? But it was fine because then Thanksgiving happened and I made that viral teeny's mac and cheese. Are you on TikTok? No, but I saw your reel on Instagram about it was so good, but I'll be totally honest with everyone listening. I'm on a GLP one right now. I'm on terzepatide. And so I'm trying to be a skinny queen. But the thing about it is that I made this mac and cheese that once upon a time I would have eaten 10 servings of I would have housed that whole tray. So good. And this medication it like totally Like Kenny ended up eating most of it. Violet loved it. I took like two bites of a noodle and I was like, it's so good, but it's like, makes me sick to eat it. Cause it's hard for me to eat like heavy oil stuff right now. So, yeah, on a little health journey and just like being transparent on my page, I want you guys to feel anyone. And I say you guys, like anyone following me, I want anyone who joins my little cozy corner of the internet to feel like it is just their grandma's house. Like they're so chill. They're so taken care of. And they're so like, nothing is TMI, like. You can ask me anything and we are just, we're homies, we're cool, it's chill over here. Um, and I think that's like a very, very Bay Area attitude of things. It's like, it's just like, let's keep it cool. Like, let's make our money and let's get our bag. But like, let's have a good time and be chill too while we're at it. Yeah. Oh my goodness. Wow. We've talked about so much. I know. I love how it all came back to like, Mom mode at the yes. Yes. Yeah. And I feel like I'm like, we've only been, we started at what? Five o'clock. Oh yeah. I will say it's not even five yet, but we're on different time zones. Oh yeah. Okay. So yeah, it's 443 where you are. It's 543 here. My mountain time. I'm trying to think if there's anything that would benefit with the topics we've already talked about. Like, is there anything that we led them to that they need to know more about? I don't think so. I feel like we've covered everything. I mean, like, hey, if people want to. Throughout suggestions, maybe we'll have like a part two for this too. Yeah, if it gets questions, if it gets anything, you know, and who knows, maybe we host a workshop at some point. I'm, I'm really wanting to get into education this next year. I really want to start marketing. I love making like a slide deck and a workbook and hopping on a, Like teaching a class. I don't know if classes are going out of style. I don't really know like what's working for everyone right now, but it's just, it'd be so nice to like teach people stuff and teach people stuff that's valuable that they can go use and put to work right now. That's like not fluffy and stupid. And just, you know how many hours I've sat on, like come to my free master class. I'm like, it was a sales presentation. Like, what do you mean? I didn't learn anything. Like, I hate that. I've been here for an hour. I haven't learned anything. What do you mean? So, yeah, no, I would love to, if anything comes up, yeah. We have to go over this one thing, though. Oh, yeah. You can't leave without telling us a chaotic moment you've had to deal with, whether it's business or parenthood. Or just in general, just because we, you know, because it's happening chaos. We need a little chaos in our lives. Gosh, I feel like it is a shit show here 24 seven. And so it would be hard or it'd be easier for me to try and find a moment that it wasn't chaotic because they all feel chaotic. Um, I would say. Just lately as a whole jumping headfirst into like, I'm pulling my kid out of school knowing damn well, I have a 30 hour a week business that like I need to operate. And just saying like, I'm just doing it. Like, that's just what we're doing. And we're going to make it work because as an entrepreneur, you're so, um, especially in like neurodivergent entrepreneur, you're so unafraid of risk. You're like, ah, like worst case scenario, like shit's going to hit the fan. We'll figure it out. You know? And so I kind of thrive in chaos, so I don't hate it, but yeah, recently with the stuff, my kid pulling her out of school with no plan. And just like, I haven't even told her yet. She doesn't even know she never went back to school, but she doesn't ask about it either. So I'm not bringing it up. She's like, I'm just gonna chill with mom. Like, I'm just gonna chill with mom all day. Yeah. Yeah. So I hope that's chaotic enough. I don't know. I'm like trying to harness it down to like one quick moment. I'm like, I don't know, man, there's a lot of chaos going on. In my head when I asked this question, like, okay, so Backstory is we started our interview a little late today. Um, cause Cass was eating McDonalds. That is the chaos. And so like, so in my head, I'm like, Oh man, maybe I should like, in my head, I pictured you like running, like getting my message on Instagram. Like with a, holding your McChicken still and then just like running to the, the office. You guys, I had a doctor's appointment. I had calls all afternoon starting at like 11 this morning. And I had calls and calls and calls and then I had to take a call from the parking lot of my doctor's office. And I stayed on the call until five minutes before, even though my doctor said, this was the chaos. I don't know why I didn't think of this. Then I had to run into my doctor's office with like no time to spare, get out of there and I come home and nobody's home and I don't have the house keys. So then I'm driving to the park to go get my daughter and her dad. Then we get in the driveway and I go, you know, it sounds good right now, not cooking. Let's go to McDonald's. And so then we come inside, we're chilling, and I go to my Instagram because I'm like you, I'm on my phone all the time. Go to my Instagram and I see your message. And I was like, I like take off running to the office. And you are so cool and understanding, which I appreciate because it's like sometimes your brain, you just like normally for me, this is like. You know, I'd be done, like, I wouldn't normally have a call this late, but I know lifestyle, like, we both have kids, so it probably makes sense for you. You probably have help in the afternoons, so it probably makes more sense for me to record in the evenings. They're playing, they're playing bubbles outside. It's kind of a vibe, I kind of love it, because you're kind of like, a little quirky in the afternoons. I feel like during the day, you're like, I'm getting stuffed on, but like, at night, it's a little, it's a little silly over here. Yeah. I love it. I mean, it's almost five o'clock somewhere. Yeah. I mean, it's 547. 547. Yeah. So, so you lived a little chaos before you hopped on here. I don't know why I didn't think of that. I think that's how normal it is to me. Not the being late part, but just the running from one thing to another, sometimes overstretching my schedule and thinking I can do all the things. I hate to make people wait. I hate to be like, no, I can't do it till next week or three weeks from now, because it feels so far away. So then I just pack everything into the current week. And then I'm like, why did I ever think that I could do all of this at once? Yeah. Yeah. That's fair. Well, thank you so much for joining us.
