Hey, mamas, let me ask you something. When was the last time you did something just for you? Not for the kids, not for your business? Not because someone needed something from you, but for the version of you who existed before all the chaos started. That woman still lives inside of you. She might be buried beneath piles of laundry, slack notifications and snack requests, but she's there. And today we're calling her back. Welcome to Caffeinated Chaos, where business deals happen between diaper changes and friendships are fueled by caffeine. I'm Whitney GaN, your host, and I'm here to talk all things business parenthood, and of course keeping up with the BFFs, whether you're juggling the boardroom, the playroom, or just here for some coffee fuel chaos. We've got you covered. Get ready for real talk, laughs and a whole lot of heart as we dive into the beautiful mess that is entrepreneurship, parenthood, and everything in between. So let's embrace the chaos together. Ated, of course. Let's get honest for a second. When you became a parent, especially a mom and a business owner at the same time, your identity can kind of feel like a checklist of responsibilities. All of a sudden, CEO caregiver, content creator, diaper changer in chief snack distributor, customer service rep, human jungle, gym. It's no wonder we wake up some mornings thinking, who am I really anymore? My husband has been on this thing where he's always like, go hang out with your girlfriends. Do this, do that. And don't get me wrong, I love hanging with my kids, but I also miss my girls too. And my girls are also married and mamas now, so we have a nice little mama get together, we grab some food, we talk about our lives, we catch up and. We are also the same girls who like if you text me at some point and there's an emergency, we will text back and we will be there for you. But also we totally understand if it's gonna be a couple days, we get it. And this isn't just about time management or self care, it's about the emotional space. Because when you're always on for everyone else, your kids, your clients, your partner, you forget how to be yourself sometimes. So you default to caretaker and the creative, vibrant, messy, fun version of you gets pushed to your back burner. And so here's the kicker. Society rewards this. We get praised for doing all the things, for being super mom, for hustling nonstop, but we don't get nearly enough encouragement to slow down and just be. So let's talk about some signs that you might be in this place. Think of it as a kind of, never have I ever, right. So here we go. One, you don't remember what hobbies you actually enjoy anymore. Two, your wardrobe starts to like you rated your child's laundry basket and just threw on whatever was clean. You start to introduce yourself. As so-and-so's mom and I run a business, but nothing else. You feel guilt when you take time away from your business or your kids just to rest. Or you feel resentful sometimes, but don't know who or what to blame. If this is sounding familiar, if you are nodding your head, raising your hand, you are not broken. You're just buried under layers and layers of life. Okay, let's shift now. Into the how, because reclaiming your identity, doesn't mean abandoning your kids or business. It means bringing yourself back into the picture. And there are some ways to start. I am gonna list a few, as always listeners, I always say, take what you like. Take what resonates, leave the rest. So some things you can take as one name, the version of you you want to reconnect with. Is she creative, adventurous, goofy, maybe quiet? Does she read novels, paint? Dance in the kitchen at midnight. Write down a few traits or habits and let yourself remember. Two, do one small thing a week just for her. Schedule it, defend it like it's a client meeting. Maybe it's reading for 20 minutes with no interruptions. Maybe it's playing a video game, taking a solo target. Run. I know solo. Whoa. Okay. Or journaling. Three, stop waiting for free time. Create pockets of presents. If we wait until the kids are older or the house is cleaner, or the business is bigger, we'll be waiting forever. Carve out imperfect moments. Instead, five minutes of dancing in the kitchen counts singing out loud in the car counts. Ordering your favorite takeout counts for me when I arrive at my day job. I have 30 minutes before anyone gets there and I put my headphones on and I listen to my favorite nineties songs. Or maybe even musicals, depending on my mood for that day. Okay, four. Let your family see you as a full human. Your kids deserve to see you thriving, not just surviving. Let them see you laugh, rest, dream. Show them what it means to love yourself without feeling any guilt, because that is a powerful legacy and. Something very powerful to pass on and to teach your kids as well. Now let's talk about the business. If your brand doesn't feel like you anymore, it's okay to pivot at again, studios. I work with fellow entrepreneurs and parents who create branding and messaging that actually feels aligned to who they are. Our whole thing is you can grow a business while raising babies and. We want to make sure that it feels just aligned with what you are growing and who you are, because your business ideals should really reflect the values in your voice, in your life, not just trends of or what people are doing on Instagram. Your business should be a reflection of you, not a replacement. You were someone beautiful and brilliant before motherhood and business, and you still are. Give yourself permission to take up space. Again, do something wildly unnecessary but joyful. Remember that you matter outside of what you do for everyone else. You're not lost, you've been buried, and you're digging her back out one moment at a time. So whether you reclaim her through coffee dates, journaling, creating content that feels real, or dancing barefoot in your living room, I see you. I support you, and I am you. Tag us at Caffe Chaos Podcast on Instagram or send us a DM and tell us what's one thing you are doing to reconnect with yourself this week. I can't wait to hear all your stories, but until next time, this is Caffe Chaos, where we're allowed to be messy, multi fascinated, and totally magnetic. That's a wrap on another episode of Caffeinated Chaos. I hope you're leaving with a little more clarity, a lot more inspiration, and maybe even an extra shot of motivation. If you love today's episode, don't forget to follow us. Leave a review and share it with a friend who could use just a little chaos and caffeine in their life. Until next time, keep embracing the mess. Chase your dreams and make magic happen. One caffeinated, chaotic moment at a time. I will see you all soon. Bye now.
